Witton Albion
Phew,
Struggling for words after last night's performance.
Accepting that we had players out with injury, we seemed to once again capitulate after matching the visiting team for much of the game.
Their keeper made a terrific save from Steve Hall early in the second half and had that gone in, it might have been different.
After that the floodgates opened and ones again Craig Elllison kept the score down to less embarrassing proportions.
To be fair to Witton , they looked a good team.Until he went off injured their No 9 looked excellent and the guy that came onto replace him was pretty good as well.
As for Droylsden, not sure where we go from here.It seems that the players are just not set to play the passing game that Dave wants. We give the ball away too much, we are not creating enough space and we seem to have these periods when we just lose our shape.
Here's hoping for a better performance in the FA Cup on Saturday.

1. The players aren't good enough to play the style of football Dave wants, we give the ball away too much.
2. We are tiny in comparison to most teams so get out muscled rather than outplayed.
3. Having 3 different people shouting different things when the players need to be concentrating on the game really doesn't help, last nights favourite was constantly shouting 'RELAX'.
Ho Hum, onwards and upwards.

Re: Witton Albion
Starting with the positives, from an attacking point of view, we weren't too bad. We had a couple of very good chances at 1-2 and didn't we hit the post in the first half? Thought Smith worked quite hard but too often ended up getting to deep or in wide positions - which isn't where you want your number 9.
Defensively though - very worrying the sheer number of chances they managed to create against us. Witton to be fair were excellent and took their goals very well, particularly the first one.
Wood seems OK but still big questions over the rest of the defence. Ellison yet again showed his quality.
