Pacey's Finest?

Post by We're the Bloods on Tue 24 Feb 2015, 17:53

If you could pick a best eleven during the Dave Pace era, who would get in it? Well, here's mine...
I'm going for a 4-4-2.
PHILO, Williams, Halford, Burke, Newton
Denham, Brown, Gardner, Morning.
Banim, Fearn.
Adam Morning may be a surprise, but I was struggling for a really decent left winger.

Hang on a minute...Shaun Whalley for Morning. Think that's a pretty decent side now!!

Looks a good side that, can't argue too much with that. Would you consider warner in his prime? Liam brownhill or Carl ruffer? And Tony gray

If this an all time xi whoever has played for the bloods then here goes some I carnt remember but if its a best ever bloods side then this is it.
1; Paul Philips
2: Liam Brownhill
3; Danny Warner
4; Garry Burke
5; Steve Halford
6: Alex Brown
7; Dan Gardner
8; Carl Holmes
9; Tony Naylor
10; Jody Banim (C) ( Best player I've seen play for the bloods along with DG)
11; Shaun whalley
Subs
12; Colin Cryan ( decent defender I thought only cos he had the piss poor Liam
Murray along side him in the BSP campaign that made him look rubbish
14; Steve Brodie ( Good player and chipped in with some goals aswell)
15; Eresnt Gillibrand- yeah ok it was back in the 30s when he played for us and
no one can remember him, but to score 275 goals for us and not to even have
him on The bench!!
16; Chris Denham- did ok for us in the BSP
17; Shaun Newton- Quality left back always remember the goals and the win against Chesterfield which never was in the end!!

8;

Jimmy Haarhoff, steve bunter, wes kinney and that keeper that scored all the pens one season. They were all worth a mention

big cammy, Dave Cameron up front is worth a mention as is the quiet man defender Lee Roche
we have been lucky having been able to watch all these great players over the years, too many
for me to recall really and i would'nt disagree with any of those line up's
my favourite one at the moment is the one starting on Saturday against Spennymoor especially
if they get us the three points
Ciaran has been a fantastic player for us over the years and still is, still slamming in the goals
also i know he was a bit of a maverick, caused a few upsets with supporters and not everyones cup of tea but .........
Luke Holden could play on his day
i'll carry on thinking !

Certainly agree with you on Killer. Let's hope we can keep him for next season. Just to put a few more names in the hat. Tony Gray, Jimmy Kelly who was a great signing the year we won the Conference North.Danny Warner was a great servant, as was Gareth Morris. One thing I think we all agree on, Jody was the finest to grace the Butchers Arms.
